Welcome to Public Transit

We provide grants, policy leadership and technical assistance to communities and
local transportation providers to provide transportation to people. The division also
develops and encourages the use of transit, ridesharing, telecommuting, alternative
work schedules, walking, bicycling and other alternatives to driving alone.

Headlines
ADA Regulations Revision
On Friday, July 23, 2010, US Attorney General signed final regulations revising the Department's ADA regulations. This website includes the regulatory amendments and analysis, and also fact sheets identifying the major changes in the rules. In general, these final rules will take effect six months after the date on which they are published in the Federal Register.
