Veteran Designation
Overview
Veteran Designation on an Oregon Driver License
DMV will add a designation on your driver license, instruction permit or ID card to indicate you are a veteran when you request the designation and meet the qualifications.

To Qualify/Add Veteran Designation
In order to qualify and add the designation to your card, you must:
  • Be a United States veteran, as defined in ORS 408.225;
  • Request that DMV add the designation at the time of issuance;
  • Provide proof of veteran status (DD214 or DD215); and
  • Meet all other Oregon requirements for a driving privilege or identification card including payment of the original, renewal or replacement fee.
Note: There is no additional fee for the veteran designation.
